Russian Program Glass Display at The Stamp
October 28, 2024
The new glass display at the Stamp showcases the vibrant Russian program. Discover information about majors, minors, upcoming courses and the Maya Brin Residence Program.
On Oct. 28 2024, students from the second and third year of the Russian program arranged a glass display at The Stamp. The display features a poster with information about the Russian program at UMD, including major and minor requirements, current and future courses and the upcoming Russian Opportunity Fair.
Additionally, the display includes information about the Maya Brin Residence Program, its history, past and current residents. This year, Russian writer Maxim Osipov will visit UMD in November. He will participate in a variety of classes and several public events during his visit, including a talk at McKeldin Library on Nov. 7 at 4 PM and a symposium on Nov. 8 at the Language House, St. Mary's Hall.
Visitors can find an array of Russian souvenirs at the display, such as Matryoshka dolls, winter hats, baseball hats, shawls, Russian chocolate, sushki, candies, samovars and nevalyashkas. A special thank you to Saima Ahmad, Nathan Bennett, and Jessica Stevens for helping decorate the glass display at The Stamp. Feel free to stop by and take a picture in front of it, and share it on social media to bring attention to the Russian program and Maxim Osipov's visit in November.
