Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages
Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages enables students to specialize in two of the three Romance languages offered: French, Italian and Spanish. Majors benefit by experiencing programming, cultural exposure and faculty support from more than one area of study. Students delve into the rich literary, historical and cultural traditions of the two languages of their choice. Through language acquisition, cultural investigation and professional growth, graduates become well-rounded global citizens prepared for a variety of careers.
Offered by the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (SLLC), the Romance languages major allows majors to study oral and written expression on a range of topics, and demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret texts in a variety of genres. Language requirements for French, Italian and Spanish include courses on reading, writing and the culture of the selected Romance languages. Students often take advantage of the study abroad opportunities offered by all three language programs.
