Japanese Minor

Learn about the minor in Japanese.

This 15-credit minor recognizes students who have undertaken a concentrated study of the language, literature/culture, and linguistics of Japan.

Note: Students with prior experience in Japanese must take the appropriate Foreign Language Placement Test (FLPT) and consult with the Japanese minor advisor.

 

Minor Requirements (15 Credits)

Japanese Language Acquisition  (6 credits)
Japanese Linguistics  (3 credits)
Japanese Literature/Cultural Studies (3 credits)

Notes:
At least nine of the 15 hours required for the minor must be at the 300-level or above
No more than 6 of the 15 credits toward the minor may be transferred from study abroad.
