The Maya Brin Residency Program is pleased to welcome Maxim Osipov, an internationally acclaimed Russian writer and cardiologist. The author of several collections of short stories and essays, as well as two plays, Osipov has won numerous prestigious literary awards and his works have been translated into twenty languages. He emigrated from Russia following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and is currently writer-in-residence at Leiden University, where he runs the Fifth Wave, a magazine of independent writing in Russian.
