In Conversation with Maxim Osipov

Please join us for a special event with the Jiménez-Porter Writers' House featuring the internationally-acclaimed Russian writer and cardiologist Maxim Osipov, who is visiting UMD through the Maya Brin Residency Program. The author of several collections of short stories and essays, as well as two plays, Maxim has won numerous prestigious literary awards and his works have been translated into twenty languages. He immigrated from Russia in February 2022 and is currently writer-in-residence at Leiden University, where he edits the Fifth Wave, a magazine of independent writing in Russian. Maxim will be speaking in conversation with Writers' House director Ross Angelella on his personal experience as a writer and editor during difficult times.
