The North American Academy of Spanish Language (ANLE) is the U.S. chapter of the Royal Academy of Spanish Language, which works to promote the Spanish language and Hispanic culture in the United States. Members include linguists, lexicographers, essayists, Spanish language historians, scientists, and translators, many of whom stand as notable figures in their fields. Nominations to the position of Miembro Correspondiente reflect quality of publications and breadth of contributions to the advancement of the study of the Spanish language and Hispanic literatures and cultures.
