The Department of French and Italian proposes a full slate of events to celebrate the French-speaking world throughout the month of March.
In honor of Journée de la Francophonie on March 20, the University of Maryland Department of French and Italian invites you to participate in their panel of events to celebrate the Francophone world.
Thursday, March 7th | Le 7 mars
Attend a viewing of Belle du Jour as part of the Il Cinema Ritrovato Tour, the reception preceding the film. 7-9 p.m., ASY 2203.
Tuesday, March 12 | Le 12 mars
Stop by our office for Journée Portes Ouvertes, an open house to learn more about our programs and enjoy French pastries with a Lebanese twist. 10-3, Jimenez 3106.

Join the Language House for Language Career Night to learn how your language skills can translate to a career. 7-8:30 p.m., JMZ 1205

Celebrate the end of le mois de la francophonie with Pages en Scène: A Celebration of Francophone Voices. Join us for a catered Haitian dinner followed by a literary competition. For this event, we are asking students to prepare readings by Francophone authors and share them at our event. A panel of faculty and TA judges will select winners and award a variety of prizes, including cash prizes for the top winners. 6 -8 p.m., St. Mary’s MPR.
