Planning an event for the SLLC or campus community?

Be sure to review the SLLC Internal Calendar 📅 to make sure your event is not happening during other important SLLC events.

Follow the steps below for a successful event.

Identify a location for your event

On Campus

Please note that the Language House Multipurpose room is not equipped with cameras for streaming or recording. All General Purpose Classrooms are equipped with cameras to record via Panopto.

The Lauretta Clough Community Room, JMZ 1205 has installed cameras and microphones for hybrid events. Please contact staff for training at least one week prior to your event.

Food / Supplies for Event

Identify vendor and then submit purchase request form to sllc-adminaffairs@umd.edu to place the food/supply order. Below are just a few common catering options available on-campus or in the College Park area; you are not required to use one of the options listed here.

Please provide 2 weeks notice for all event food/supply orders.

Visitor Parking Information

The following resources should be shared with guests not affiliated with UMD.There is ample visitor parking in the Union Lane Garage, cost is currently $4/hour, with a $20 daily maximum. Student lots are free and unrestricted after 4PM weekdays and all day on weekends/holidays. Faculty/Staff lots are generally restricted to vehicles with a valid UMD parking permit. Visitors should closely review lot signs for restrictions before parking. Parking Pin Codes can be requested for invited speakers should you wish to pay for your guests parking. Contact SLLC-AdminAffairs@umd.edu to request a pin code well in advance of your guests arrival.
