By Learners For Learners: Adult L2 Authors Writing for Child L2 Learners

Dr. Roswita Dressler (Associate Professor, Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary) will share her research on English-German K-6 bilingual education which identified gaps in the availability of German children's books to support L2 reading instruction. To address this gap, By Learners for Learners, an OER development collaboration with Dr. John Scott (UMD German Studies), engages adult German learners to compose and publish illustrated, level-appropriate children’s books, benefitting their own learning and supporting K-6 bilingual education in over 170 English-German bilingual schools in North America.
