Sllc Celebrates Boren Scholars

Congratulations to the 2019-2020 recipients of the Boren Scholarship!

Congratulations to the 2019-2020 recipients of the Boren Scholarship! We are pleased to recognize these students for their outstanding efforts applying to this nationally competitive scholarship. The Boren Scholarship, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provides unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Boren awards $8,000 for summer, $10,000 for semester and $20,000 for 6-12 months of study.

4 of this years Boren Award recipients are SLLC majors.
