The Language House debuts film series

The Language House invites all to their International Film Series, a cinematic experience that brings the world to your screen.
This series is presented by The Language House and features a selection of international films chosen by each of the ten language clusters. Each film was chosen to provide insight into the culture, traditions, and language of a specific region. All films will be showing at The Language House International Film Lounge, Room 0107 in St Mary’s Hall. So, grab your popcorn and join us for a riveting journey through international cinema. Spanish Cluster: "No Instructions Included"
Our Spanish cluster kicks off the series on Friday, October 13, from 5-7pm with the film "No Instructions Included". This film offers a delightful blend of comedy and drama, showcasing the nuances of the Spanish language and culture.
German Cluster: "Lola Rennt"
The German cluster follows suit on Friday, October 20, from 7:30-9pm with "Lola Rennt". This thrilling film presents an exciting exploration of German cinema, and will surely keep you on the edge of your seat.
Japanese Cluster: "Ghost in the Shell"
On Monday, October 30, from 4-6pm, our Japanese cluster presents "Ghost in the Shell". This iconic anime film provides a fascinating glimpse into Japanese pop culture and the art of animation.
Korean Cluster: "The Red Sleeve"
On Wednesday, October 25, from 6-8pm, the Korean cluster offers "The Red Sleeve", a captivating film that showcases the depth and richness of Korean cinema and storytelling.
Chinese Cluster: "Detective Chinatown"
On Wednesday, November 8, from 3-5pm, the Chinese cluster presents "Detective Chinatown". This film is a comedic romp through a metropolitan mystery, characterized by its quick wit and intricate plot.
Russian Cluster: "The Diamond Arm"
On Tuesday, November 21, from 6-7:30pm, the Russian cluster brings to the screen "The Diamond Arm". This classic comedy is a must-see for anyone interested in Russian cinema.
Persian Cluster: "About Elly"
On Wednesday, November 15, from 4-6pm, the Persian cluster presents "About Elly", a gripping drama that offers a unique perspective on Iranian culture and society.
Arabic Cluster: "Caramel"
On Wednesday, November 29, from 5-6:30pm, the Arabic cluster presents "Caramel", a heartwarming film that reveals the complexities of life and love in Beirut.
French Cluster: "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"
Closing the series on Wednesday, December 6, from 4-6pm, is the French cluster with "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". This timeless classic serves as a fitting conclusion to our international film journey.
