German Major Awardees: Nick Brazones and Nick Gross
Congratulations to Nicholas Brazones and Nicholas Gross on receiving the German Society of Maryland Merit Award this year! The purpose of the German Society of Maryland is to preserve and promote the German heritage, language and traditions through educational, social, and benevolent programs and to develop the unity and continuity of the German American community in the State of Maryland. This program provides up to 3 awards of $1,000.00 each to outstanding students at Maryland colleges and universities who have declared a German major. Two of the three awards went to our German double-majors!
Nicholas Brazones, from Howard County, is a senior majoring in Chemistry and Germanic Studies. After graduation, Nick plans to pursue post-secondary education and work opportunities in Germany.
Nicholas Gross, also from Howard County and a senior, is studying Mechanical Engineering and Germanic Studies. Nicholas will be finishing his undergraduate studies at the Technical University of Munich during the 2018/2019 academic year. After graduation, Nicholas would like to work for a German engineering firm in the field of automotive manufacturing either in Germany or in the US.
We are very proud of our Nicks and their accomplishments and wish them the very best in their future pursuits!
