French Program announces events for French Week

In recognition of National French Week in November, the Department of French and Italian invites you to several events to celebrate the French language and culture.
Join us for the following events in celebration of National French Week in November.
November 7, 3-4: TAPIF Virtual Info Session
Learn more about how you can move to France next year to teach English through the Teaching Assistant Program in France and hear from recent alum. Register here for the Zoom link.
November 9, 6:30-8: Fête du Fromage
Join us for a celebration of French cheese. Enjoy a “cheesy” reading from French literature, hear from a chemist about the science of French cheese, and take part in a guided cheese tasting. Event is in English and will be held in JMZ 1205. RSVP here by November 6th. Space is limited.
November 14, 10:30-3:30: Journée Portes Ouvertes
Stop by the French advising office (temporarily JMZ 3210) for croissants et café and ask any questions you have about studying French at UMD.
November 15, 4-5:30: Falls Lecture
As part of the annual William Falls lecture series, we will welcome Sara Rahnama to campus to deliver a talk titled “The Future is Feminist: Women and Social Change in Interwar Algeria." This year's lecture will be held on November 15th at 4-5:30 PM in the MPR of St Mary's Hall and will be followed by a light reception. RSVP here.
