The Department of French and Italian proposes a full slate of events to celebrate the French-speaking world throughout the month of March.
In honor of Journée de la Francophonie on March 20, the University of Maryland Department of French and Italian invites you to participate in their panel of events to celebrate the Francophone world.
March 9th | Le 9 mars
Attend a viewing of The Battle of Algiers as part of the Il Cinema Ritrovato Tour. Following the film, join us for a Francophone dinner in the Language House multipurpose room. After dinner, attend a Q&A session with Dr. Orlando about the film. Film at 3:30-5:45 in PJM 2203. Dinner from 6-7:15 (register here by March 6). Q&A from 7:40-8:40 in PJM 2203.
Saturday, March | 11 Le 11 mars
Enjoy a tour of Francophone art at the National Museum of African Art in partnership with the Alliance Française of Washington DC. Tour will be provided in French but all levels are welcome. 11-12:30, Register here by March 5.

Join the Language House for a virtual Language Career Night to learn how your language skills can translate to a career. 7-8:30 via Zoom.
Tuesday, March 28 | Le 28 mars
Stop by our office for Journée Portes Ouvertes, an open house to learn more about our programs and enjoy French pastries with a Lebanese twist. 10-4, Jimenez 3106.
