Scholarship Recipients: Agnieszka Bieganowska and Lauren Moyer
Congratulations also to Agnieszka Bieganowska and Lauren Moyer on receiving The Anneliese and Alfred Strauch Scholarship for Language Study! This Scholarship was established in 2003 by the Department of Germanic Studies associate professor emerita Dr. Gabriele Strauch, in memory of her parents. Each spring semester, the Scholarship recognizes the outstanding efforts of two German Majors, Dual-Degree, and Double-Majors, who hold Junior standing at the University of Maryland.
Agnieszka Bieganowska is a Germanic Studies and Russian Language and Literature Double-Major in her second year of college. She plans to study abroad in Tübingen during the Winter-Term session in 2019 and wishes to apply to the Fulbright program to teach English in Germany upon finishing her undergraduate studies. Agnieszka also wishes to pursue a Master’s degree in Education to teach in secondary schools and to share her love of foreign languages.
Lauren Moyer is pursuing a Dual-Degree in Bioengineering and Germanic Studies. She plans to study abroad in Munich in Spring 2019 after living in the Language House in Fall 2018. Lauren is also in Honors Humanities and focused her Keystone project on the Lutheran Church in Germany.
