The Korean Program at the University of Maryland offers courses in language, culture, and linguistics, as well as special topics offered through the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) as part of the university’s broader integration with the Big Ten.

Our language program is a 2-year sequence of skills courses, to include speaking, reading, writing, and culture, with expansion to third-year Korean a future possibility.  (Please note that before registering, students new to the program need to take the college’s online Foreign Language Placement Assessment, the FLPA (https://www.arhu.umd.edu/undergraduate/flpa).

The Korean Studies Minor combines Korean Program courses with Korea-related courses offered by departments across campus. For content and contact information, see https://sllc.umd.edu/korean/undergraduate/minor.
