Roshan Institute for Persian Studies at the University of Maryland aspires to be the premier center for the learning, understanding and appreciation of Persian culture in the United States. Toward this end, Roshan Institute seeks to provide outstanding course offering and program in Persian language, literature, history and culture; to foster communication and community ties among people of Persian heritage and those interested in Persian studies; and to serve as a model for encouraging intercultural communication among peoples of varying backgrounds.

Each year, Roshan Institute for Persian Studies hosts a number of events available to the community as well as ongoing projects to help advance scholarship in Persian Studies at the University of Maryland. Activities sponsored by the Roshan Institute include:

  • Roshan talks, presentations, and film screenings (including Mir-Djalali Cultural Events Series)
  • Persian language courses and courses on Iranian history, culture, society, art, and literature
  • Roshan Initiative in Persian Digital Humanities
  • Roshan undergraduate scholarships
  • Roshan Virtual Residency, connecting university students in Iran with Roshan students for collaborative multimedia projects
  • Creating a platform for presenting Persian minority artists (Immigrants, religio-ethnic minorities, LGBTQ)

Your donations will help ensure that Roshan Institute is able to continue organizing events such as these and providing education in Persian Studies in the years to come. If you would like to donate to Roshan Institute for Persian Studies, you can do so at the following link:
