Payroll and Benefits
The SLLC Payroll Office processes hiring/payroll actions, and assists with the completion of payroll and benefits documents.
Hiring within SLLC requires submission of Payroll Action Request Form(s) well in advance of the desired employment start date. Hiring requests or payroll changes are to be submitted for any type of appointment, paid or non-paid.
Note: In order to comply with UMD Policy and Federal Regulations, our office cannot process “same day,” or "backdated" hiring requests. An employee must have an active PHR appointment to work on campus (paid or unpaid).
Current Employees
Time Records/Timesheets
- Work days and leave hours must be recorded for Exempt employees and Faculty (50% FTE or more), while Nonexempt and hourly employees are required to record actual hours worked.
- Time records must be signed off at the end of each pay period by both the employee and the supervisor.

Tax Forms
Central Payroll (CPB) requires submission of original, signed, paper tax and direct deposit documents. Please contact SLLC Payroll Office for forms.
