SLLC Summit 2.0 - Shaping Futures Through Languages and Literatures
The SLLC Summit 2.0 will be held September 7-8, 2023 in the Language House Multipurpose Room. Please join us as we focus on shaping futures through languages and literatures. Our program begins on Friday, September 8th with lunch, followed immediately by a Keynote Presentation by Dr. Ashley Voeks. In addition, there will be two pre-Summit workshops for SLLC Undergraduate and Graduate Students.

- 1:45-3:00 pm Keynote Presentation by Dr. Ashley Voeks, "Preparing Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Jobs: How to Incorporate Career-Readiness Experiences in Language and Literature Courses"
- 3:00-3:30 pm Break (dessert)
- 3:30-5:00 pm Workshop Session, "What are you going to do with a major in that?" Helping advisors, instructors, and mentors guide students towards a successful career path with languages, literatures and cultures.
- 5:30 pm Reception with Dr. Ashley Voeks @ The Language House
Dr. Ashley Voeks is an Enterprise Customer Success Manager at Harvard Business Publishing and career coach based in Lubbock, Texas. She holds a Ph.D. in French Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and was an Assistant Professor of French before entering the field of Learning & Development. She is a tireless advocate for the study of languages, literatures, and cultures and seeks to empower students to identify and leverage their skills to find early-career success.
