, Join the Department of Germanic Studies for our year-long movie series: Volk ohne Humor?: The German Comedy Film. We will be screening our first film in this semester titled: “Wer früher stirbt ist länger tot” (Marcus H. Rosenmüller, 2006).,

, “Wer früher stirbt ist länger tot” tells the story of Sebastian, a young boy in Bavaria wracked with guilt over the death of his mother in childbirth. A comedy, the film shows Sebastian's search for ways to fight his feelings of guilt, seeking such goals as procreation, sanctification, reincarnation, and rocktstardom.,

, All screenings are free for the UMD community and will be shown with English subtitles. (Do be aware that films may contain disturbing images, language, and sexual content.),

, Pizza and refreshments will be served at 7pm; the film will begin at 7:30pm.,
