FILM: Wer Wenn Nicht Wir
Part of the 2021-2022 Film Series - Systemsprenger: Rebels and Revolutionaries in German Cinema
The Department of German Studies is pleased to present our 2021-22 Film Series, "Systemsprenger: Rebels and Revolutionaries in German Cinema." This year we are screening six films from different eras. In the fall semester, we showed three biopics portraying the lives of revolutionary figures from German history. In the spring semester, we are excited to return to in-person screenings with three films that depict different forms of resistance against the status quo. All films are shown with English subtitles. Spring screenings take place in Jiménez 0220 at 7pm.

Andres Veiel's feature film focuses on the nascent student movement of 1968 and its confrontation with the Nazi past through the love story between two real-life historical figures: the writer Bernward Vesper and the activist Gudrun Ensslin, who became a founding member of the urban guerilla group the Red Army Faction
