Luis Fernando Charry (Bogotá, 1976). He is the author of the novels Alford (2002), Los niños suicidas (2004), Ruinas familiares (2010), La naturaleza de las penas (2012), Últimas funciones en la sombra (2018), and a book of short stories called La furia de los elementos (2006). He has also participated in the books Fricciones urbanas: Fricciones urbanas: 11 escritores escriben sobre 11 ciudades (2004) and Palabra capital: Bogotá develada (2007), among others. With the book Las tardes he won the National Poetry Prize for Unpublished Work in 2008. He has a PhD in Latin American literature from the University of Maryland and has taught at The George Washington University, Georgetown University and University of Maryland.
