Kichan joined the Ph.D. program in Second Language Acquisition in 2017. Before coming to University of Maryland at College Park, he taught English at Republic of Korea Naval Academy for four and a half years. He holds an MA in TESL from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Yonsei University. His research interests include second language instruction, English for Specific Purposes, and cognitive processes in second language acquisition.
