Ahmed Hanafy is a Senior Lecturer in the Arabic Studies Department. He is also the Undergraduate Advisor of the program, and the Assistant Director of Arabic Flagship Program. Ahmed graduated from Alexandria University where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Education from the School of Education, specialized in teaching English as a foreign language. Then, he continued with Master’s studies in English-Arabic Translation. Prior to joining the department, Ahmed worked at Alexandria University as a lecturer of Arabic as a foreign language. Moreover, He worked with the Arabic Flagship Program overseas as a lecturer at the Arabic Flagship program capstone in Morocco. He has also taught at the Summer Language Institute at the University of Maryland for several years. Ahmed also has experience developing academic materials and teaching English as a foreign language in Egypt.
