Language House International Film Series: "Dear You" (给阿嬷的情书) with the Chinese Cluster

Join students from the Language House Chinese cluster for the next installment in the International Film Series! We'll be screening the film "Dear You" (给阿嬷的情书) on Tuesday, October 20 at 7:00pm in the International Film Lounge (0107), on the ground floor of St. Mary's Hall. English subtitles will be provided. Everyone is welcome!

Note: a second screening of the film will be offered on Monday, October 26 at 6:00pm in the same location.

Film synopsis: Ye Shurou, an elderly woman in Chaoshan, has spent her later years living a quiet and peaceful life. Her grandson Xiaowei, burdened by debt, secretly travels to Thailand in search of his grandfather, Zheng Musheng, who is rumored to have become a billionaire.

But when Xiaowei returns, he brings news that shocks the entire family: his grandfather had passed away long ago. Even more astonishingly, the person who had been exchanging love letters with his grandmother all these years was actually a complete stranger. As Xiaowei continues his investigation, a love story hidden for half a century gradually comes to light, stirring emotions that reach deep into his grandmother’s heart.
