Chila Pertuz-Hidalgo has been teaching Spanish and Latin American Literature at the University of Maryland since 2002. She has also taught Spanish Language courses at American University and Middlebury College. Chila earned a Ph.D. in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her academic focus is Contemporary Latin American Studies with a specialization on violence and politics in the Colombian narrative.
