Students Will Study in Taiwan and Morocco on Prestigious Boren Awards

Four SLLC students have received prestigious Boren Scholarships that will allow them to pursue intensive language study

In 2022, the national nominating panel selected 121 Boren Fellows and 208 Boren Scholars from 246 graduate and 458 undergraduate applications. University of Maryland is one of the top performing institutions nationally with a total of fifteen recipients. Three students in the Arabic program and one in the Chinese program will study abroad with the help of this scholarship.

Matchai Abdoul Karim Sy Savane (ARAB), Molly Shreier (ARAB), and Jordan Smith (ARAB) will study in Morocco
and Linette Kingston (CHIN) will study in Taiwan.
