SPAP Alumni Rewarded Honorable Mention for International Essay Prize
Jason Bartles and Raul Vallejo, two alumni of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, were recently awarded Honorable Mention for the International Essay Prize at Cuadernos de Literatura. Raul Vallejo’s essay entitled “Maria en los infiernos” and “La novella-frasquito de Luis Gusman” by Jason A. Bartles were deemed worthy of a Certificate of Honor among the more than sixty essays submitted from Colombia, Argentina, Australia, Canada, United States, Mexico, and Spain. Raul Vallejo is a well-known Ecuadorian writer and politician, and Jason A. Bartles is currently an Assistant Professor of Spanish at West Chester University.
