John Daigle accepted to Seminar in Leipzig

John will spend the summer studying in Germany

Congratulations to John Daigle on his acceptance into the AATG summer seminar “Mit Deutsch in die Zukunft”. This month-long program hosted by the Herder-Institut at the University of Leipzig provides aspiring German teachers with methodological workshops and hand-on experience in Germany. AATG provides students a grant for the cost of the seminar, accommodations and travel.

John is pursuing his MA in German Languages and Literature at the University of Maryland. John’s research interests include depictions of oppression and resistance in 20th German literature and film and German gothic literature. He currently works part-time as a Graduate Assistant for the Department of German Studies and part-time for Goethe Institut in the Language Department. Next Semester John will work as a Teaching Assistant for the German Studies Department. After graduating in the fall John seeks to teach German.
