Vidas Negras Importam: The Struggle For Black Lives in Brazil and in the US

Dr. Gladys Mitchell-Walthour, who is an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Political Economy at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, will discuss the history of Black Movement in Brazil and in the U.S., focusing on contemporary Black activism in both countries. Her talk will address the fight for social justice as well as instances of transnational solidarity between African-American and Afro-Brazilian activists.
