Anastasia Selemeneva

A native of Russia and former Fulbright recipient, Assistant Research Professor Anastasia Selemeneva received her Ph.D. in Slavic Studies from Brown University in 2016. Her dissertation, Vladislav Khodasevich: Russia’s Poet-Critic explores the intersection of Khodasevich’s poetry and literary criticism and demonstrates how his work points to the key issues of Russian emigration in interwar Europe. In addition to Khodasevich, her research interests include Russian émigré culture, Ivan Bunin, Vladimir Nabokov, and early Soviet literature seen through the lens of Russian emigration. She has been teaching at the University of Maryland courses on Russian language and literature since 2016.
