The Persian Studies Essay Award

Made possible by a generous gift from the Iranian-American philanthropist, Mr. Hossein Amirsaleh, in 2010, The Persian Studies Essay Award is an endowed fund to recognize outstanding undergraduate student essays submitted in partial fulfillment of a Persian Studies course requirements.  

 

Number of Awards

Two Scholarships @ $500.00 each

Eligibility

  • University of Maryland undergraduate student
  • Enrolled in a Persian Studies course offered in English
  • Previous recipients of this award are not eligible

Application Materials

  • Cover letter
  • An essay/term paper written in partial fulfillment of a regular Persian studies course requirements offered in English in 2015-2016 academic year
  • Course syllabus containing a description of the essay/term paper requirements OR  a description of the essay/term paper provided by the course instructor or TA

Submission Deadline

Complete application packets should be submitted in hard copy format to Ms. S. Ata (JMZ 1220). Application Deadline Date March 31st, 2016.
