French Beyond the Classroom

Printer-friendly version

No matter where they are from, French students at Maryland are always busy being immersed in a variety of learning opportunities to speak French inside and outside of the classroom! Students are invited to participate in the French cluster of the Language House, the Cercle des Étudiants Francophones et Francophiles, the Conversation Coffee Hour, or the Language Partner Program.

Students engage in a variety of events organized by the French program, including the Falls Lecture in French Studies, our annual Fête francophone, as well as film screenings, invited talks, and special activities during National French Week in November.

Many of our students study abroad with one of our two Education abroad programs: our semester- or year-long Maryland-in-Nice program, and our Maryland-in-Montpellier summer program.

French majors may also choose to join Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honors Society.
