Ms. Saideh Ghods is a wonderful Iranian woman philanthropist, entrepreneur and community organizer. She is also the founder of the MAHAK, one of the most impressive charitable organizations in Iran that supports children with cancer. Saideh Ghods spoke about her work with pediatric cancer in Iran. She spoke in Persian and was translated.

Roshan Institute is co-hosting a two-day conference event entitled The Wide World of Persian: Connections and Contestations, 1500-Today on  Friday, May 2, 2014 from 9:00AM- 1:00PM, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. and on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 9:30AM- 4:00PM, Van Munching Hall, University of Maryland campus, College Park, M.D.  This conference examines the Persian-speaking world of 1500 to today, including not only aspects of cohesion and fracture but also renewal and reconstitution.
