SLLC Students in Beijing

The deadline to apply for SLLC's Spring Semester at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is October 15.

Immerse yourself in the authentic world of Chinese language, culture, history, people, food and daily life while earning credits either toward your Chinese major or complementing your general studies.

Spend a semester in Beijing – the most dynamic city in the world where a 5000 year old history meets modern technology, Chinese-style Communism meets Western-style market-economy, and where rows of glistening skyscrapers reach into the sky just blocks away from the Forbidden City and ancient hutong alleyways. Hike the Great Wall close to Beijing and explore ancient and modern cultural sites outside Beijing during the weeklong class excursion to either super modern Shanghai or the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Xi’an with its famous Terra Cotta Warriors or the Dazu rock carvings in Sichuan province displaying magnificent Buddhist statues, and Taoist and Confucian stone figures.

Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is the leader in teaching Chinese as a second/foreign language in China. BLCU hosts about 11, 000 students from all over China and the world and has trained over 120,000 students from over 170 countries and regions since its founding in 1962.
