Our Lisa Warren awarded a Foreign Language and Area Studies Summer Fellowship (FLASF)

Lisa Warren, a student in the PhD program of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese/SLLC, has been awarded a Foreign Language and Area Studies Summer Fellowship (FLASF), funded by the U.S. Department of Education and the University of Pittsburgh. This fellowship,  awarded for  intensive study of a language of Latin America, covers the cost of tuition for language study and provides a stipend of $2,500. Lisa will be continuing her study of Kichwa at the Andes and Amazon Field School in the Ecuadorian Amazon, directed by professors Tod Swanson and Janis Nuckolls.
