Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Hester Baer on leading a discussion on a fascinating panel titled "Queer as Volk" (with authors Fabian Hischmann, Jürgen Bauer, and Zora del Buono), which was hosted by the Human Rights Campaign on March, 6th in Washington, DC.

On the occasion of the annual Zeitgeist literature festival, the Goethe-Institut Washington, the Austrian Cultural Forum and the Embassy of Switzerland invited three important emerging and established writers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland to America’s capital to present and discuss their recent works. This year’s theme, ‟Queer as Volk,” highlighted the new works in German that deal with themes of identification and queerness.

In the End we Throw with Gold (Am Ende schmeißen wir mit Gold) by German author Fabian Hischmann, The Window to the World (Das Fenster zur Welt) by Austrian author Jürgen Bauer and Gotthard by Swiss author Zora del Buono.
