Celebrated Mexican Writer Cristina Rivera Garza Visits Umd

Author Cristina Rivera Garza Visited UMD to Discuss the Recent Translation of Her Novel, The Iliac Crest.

On Thursday, October 12, 2017, author Cristina Rivera Garza visited the UMD campus to discuss the recently released translation of her novel, The Iliac Crest (Feminist Press, 2017). To discuss the book, she joined a stimulating panel consisting of Sharada Balachandran Orihuela (English Department, UMD), Ryan Long (Department of Spanish and Portuguese, UMD), Manuel Cuellar (George Washington University), Sergio Waisman (George Washington University), and Britta Anderson (Latin American Studies Center, UMD).

This event was sponsored by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese in the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures with the collaboration of the Latin American studies Center and the Center for Literary and Comparative Studies.
