ARUM SCHOLARSHIPS FOR KOREAN LANGUAGE
Scholarships are available each semester for UMCP students in Korean language courses. These scholarships represent the generous gift of a local Korean businessman who wishes to encourage the study of Korean. To learn more about the benefactor of the scholarship, please click here.
Students will be chosen by a School of Languages committee on the basis of academic merit, motivation, progress in learning Korean, and active involvement in the activities of the Korean class. Recipients will be expected to study a total of at least one year of Korean language at the University of Maryland.
For consideration of the award, students must submit:
- Application form
- A short essay (2 pages double spaced) on a topic to be chosen each semester
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member (besides the Korean teacher) with whom the student has studied
