“Fieldwork in the Humanities"

Date & Time: Friday, April 7, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Place: St. Mary’s Hall Multipurpose Room

Dr. Sarah Benharrech will discuss her current project on botany and literature in 18th-century France.
Dr. Michele Mason will introduce her field experiences in Nagasaki, Japan, for her project on the atomic bomb and Nagasaki.
Dr. Lindsay Yotsukura will talk about her research at the National Archives for her project on relationships between Japanese automakers and the US in the 1930s and 1940s.
Dr. José Naharro-Calderon will explore aesthetical and ethical issues around the Spanish diasporas and the totalitarian crisis of the 1930’s and their aftermath.

We hope this workshop will be a casual, open forum to explore the significance of fieldwork in literary and linguistic studies.
