More about Soroush:
Soroush Bassam grew up in an artistic family where his father was a musician, and Soroush has been exposed to the Persian music since he was born. He fell in love with art and music, and his father taught him tar and setar.  Later on Soroush attended zarb (another Persian musical instrument) class for 2 years. He was able to attend the "Iranian music perception and cognition" course taught by Maestro Kiani, a prominent Iranian musician and researcher. Soroush performed two concerts in Iran, and tonight he will be here to perform and teach students here at UMD.
