The 22nd Annual Conference of the IACL & the 26th North American Conference on Chinese Linguistics, May 2-4, 2014
The annual conference of the International Association of Chinese Linguistics (IACL http://www.iacling.org/ ) is an international conference, which has been held in Asia, Europe, and America over the past 20 years. It has become a major conference for scholars and students around the globe who are interested in Chinese linguistics and related studies. The IACL-22 conference programs consist of keynote speeches, panel discussions, oral and poster presentations, and presentations by the finalists competing for IACL Awards (YSA, MJH, IRA).
The annual North American Conference on Chinese Linguistics, known as the Northeast Conference on Chinese Linguistics (NECCL), was renamed NACCL during the third conference to broaden its geographical representation to include all of the U.S. as well as Canada (https://naccl.osu.edu/home). NACCL conferences are held jointly with annual conferences of IACL when the latter is held in North America. The NACCL-26 conference programs consist of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and oral and poster presentations.
About The Symposium on Globalization of Chinese (汉语全球化专题研讨会)
In response to the current globalization of Chinese, a symposium is specially organized in conjunction with IACL-22 and NACCL-26. The symposium on “Globalization of Chinese: Linguistic Variation in the Spread of the Standard Language” encourages cross-fertilized approaches (across the boundaries of theoretic linguistics, sociolinguistics, SLA, and more) in analyzing the relationship between Chinese interlanguage and varieties of standard Chinese in heritage Chinese communities and L2 Chinese communities. The program of the symposium consists of thematic panels of presentations, undergraduate student poster presentations, and a roundtable of distinguished scholars in the field.
